In 1997, five ladies agreed that the standard of righteousness on their campus was sub-par. They decided to live their faith out loud and encourage others to follow. They communicated with God through prayer and fasting, submitting themselves to Him and the plan in store. The answer was Alpha Epsilon Omega Christian Sisterhood.
This sisterhood was the foundation for what was to come. They lifted up such a standard of Godliness and righteousness that a brotherhood followed suit. That brotherhood is now Alpha Iota Omgea Christian Fraternity, Inc. From its inception, the fraternity has been tightly connected to the sisterhood and sorority of Alpha Epsilon Omega.
In 1999, in the likeness of the sisterhood, Alpha Epsilon Omega Christian Sorority became an officially recognized Greek organization on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The five founders of the sorority were:
Nicole Burney, Antionette (Kerr) Cooke, Quanisha Davis,
Barbara (Dean) Fisher, Tiffany (Robertson) Keifer
Despite their different backgrounds, ethnicities, and preferences, they shared a love for God and a loyalty to Jesus Christ. Prayer, vision, and determination were the groundwork for the purposes of God to be fulfilled in these ladies lives -- and in many to come! Without a vision the people perish. But even with a vision, obedience is imperative. We give thanks for the obedience of those who began the sisterhood and the sorority we now call Alpha Epsilon Omega Christian Sorority, Inc.
In 2001, Alpha Epsilon Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. was recognized by the State of North Carolina as an official corporation. We are incorporated as a non-profit business with national recognition and scope. Therefore all monies donated to the sorority are tax deductible. We conduct our business in accordance with the laws and regulations of the State of North Carolina.
