Who are members?

Colossians 3:15  "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."

Ephesians 4:25   "Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body."

1 Corinthians 6:15   "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?"

Romans 12:4   "Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,..."

According to the Bible, members are of Christ's body, abiding in peace, speaking truthfully. A member of AEO must first be a member of Christ's body and of the universal Church, who is the bride of Christ.

Why do we discriminate based on religion?

Our corporation has been accused of discrimination because we choose our members based on their religious affiliation. AEO believes that in order to achieve success in reaching its religiously-motivated goals of promoting Christian faith to women belonging to sororities, we must require our members and officers to  adhere to a Christ-like statement of faith, Christ-like tenets of belief, and Christ-like standards of conduct.

While we do not apologize for the faith-based standard of membership invitation, we would like to be clear that we believe God loves everyone without regard to gender, race, class, economic status, ethnic background, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, and cultural and religious backgrounds.
